If you keep up with the Kardashians, you’ll know that Kim Kardashian and her husband, Kanye West, have been wanting a third child to complete their family. However, on a recent episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim opened up about her struggles with conceiving and the serious health risks it entailed. This has led the couple to opt for surrogacy, and it has been confirmed that they have found someone to carry out the pregnancy.
In her first pregnancy with her daughter, North, Kim suffered a severe form of preeclamspia, a condition that raises blood pressure, which can cause serious health risks for both the mother and baby. It can cause severe pain and discomfort, which Kim was very open about during the episodes of her first pregnancy and on her blog.
As if that wasn’t enough of a struggle, she was diagnosed with another, even more serious, life-threatening condition during her second pregnancy with baby Saint called placenta accreta. This condition causes the plancenta to stick to the uterine wall, which Kim revealed her doctor had to “scrape it away from my uterus with his finger nails. How disgusting and painful!”
Kim expressed her urgency for having a third child in a prior episode of KUWTK, despite the traumatic robbery experience she had in Paris and her two previous complicated pregnancies. “I’d just love nothing more than to expand my family and just know that I have this world at home that’s safe,” she said. She was determined to try again and carry a third child. But after a series of hormone injections and doctor visits, the couple decided on surrogacy to avoid any more medical issues for Kim, and their future baby, of course.
It is rumored that the couple spent nearly $70,000 on finding the surrogate and plan to pay the surrogate $45,000 for carrying out a full-term pregnancy with a $5,000 bonus for every twin or triplet child. Cha ching! They tell us all the time that babies are expensive…
We congratulate the Wests and wish them the best of luck.
