Al Sharpton, an American Civil Rights leader and Baptist minister, has been getting very familiar with his cell phone camera. On Father’s Day, the 62-year-old posted a pre-gym selfie that has the internet in hysterics. Even though the picture has since been deleted from Sharpton’s Instagram, the photo has made its rounds throughout the web, receiving both positive and negative reviews. Some are praising his level of physical fitness while others are “clowning” him for his look and the selfie itself.
Throughout all of this, Sharpton has remained very much unbothered, even when more selfies began resurfacing. TMZ caught up with him and asked about his selfies and the MSNBC host playfully told the internet to stop hating. “I live in the Trump era,” Sharpton says. “If he can tweet at night, I can selfie before I go to the gym in the morning and don’t be jealous because I’m so fit at 62 years old.”
