Lady Gaga Will Replace Beyonce at Coachella

It seems that after a couple years of waiting on the sidelines, it’s time for Lady Gaga’s reemergence into the limelight. Thanks to a stunning Super Bowl halftime performance, her music sales jumped by 1,000 percent, according to Billboard. Her electric performance with Metallica at the Grammy’s surely helped, too. Now, she has been honored with taking Beyonce’s place at Coachella in April.

Although Beyonce had been prepared to perform at Coachella, her doctor told her to take a step back after announcing she was pregnant with twins (don’t worry fans, she’ll be back to perform in 2018). Billboard released a poll asking who fans would like to see take her place, and Lady Gaga was one of the top performers requested, out of a list that included celebs like Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Sia, and Lana Del Rey.

Lady Gaga confirmed the news on Twitter on Feb. 28:

Several Beyonce fans are not happy.

But others thought the replacement was a solid decision.

Gaga is set to perform on April 15 and 22. Other Coachella headliners include Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar.
