Earlier today Drake announced, through his“October’s Very Own” blog, that he’s going to have to postpone a handful of shows of his Summer Sixteen Tour due to an ankle injury. He stated that he’s “being forced to postpone the intense three shows in a row.”
Drake goes on to explain that even though he did not want to alter his tour, he came to an agreement with his doctor, who advised him to do this so he could get better for his future shows.
Drake is postponing three shows in: Toronto (his hometown), Philadelphia, and Newark. Toronto is mentioned in almost every single one of his songs, so this situation must be devastating for both him and his hometown. It wasn’t all bad news though, in the same announcement on his blog he stated, “I will make it up to you I promise”. Drake followed this up by hinting at new content for his fans when he said, “I can’t wait to see you all again with new music”.
Hopefully Drake’s ankle will get better in time for him to continue his Summer Sixteen Tour. I think the fact that he will most likely be releasing new music in the near future will be enough for his fans to forgive him.
