The intense presidential election has finally come to a conclusion, and most Americans were surprised to find out that Donald Trump will be taking the seat as the 45th president of the United States of America. Trump supporters were thrilled upon the news, while Clinton’s fans mourned her loss. Several celebrities have been backing the female candidate throughout her entire campaign.
Miley Cyrus posted an emotional video to her Twitter regarding Clinton’s loss. “I still think that in her lifetime she deserves to be the first female president, and that’s what makes me so sad,” Cyrus says through tears in the clip. “I just wish that she had that opportunity because she’s fought for so long and because I believe her when she says that she loves this country, this is all she’s ever done. She’s given her life to make it better.”
In weeks leading up to the election, Cyrus was campaigning at college campuses for Clinton. She continues on in the video to say, “But like Donald Trump so ironically played after his speech and said ‘you can’t always get what you want’ and Happy Hippies we adjust and accept everyone [for] who they are, and so Donald Trump I accept you, and this hurts to say but I even accept you as the president of the United States.”
After her emotional speech, she continues on to thank the current Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama for his presidency and everything he has accomplished in his past 8 years.
