During the recording of their 2015 album Bad Magic, Motörhead would pass the time by playing covers of some of their favorite songs. With the release of their new compilation project titled Under Cöver, we have a lot of exciting covers to look forward to, as the 11-track album will feature their take on songs by The Rolling Stones, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, and more.
However, one track seems to be stealing the spotlight, their cover of “Heroes” by the late great David Bowie. We recently lost both members of British music royalty, Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister and David Bowie, in December 2015 and January 2016 respectively, making this cover track a little bit more special. “Lemmy was very, very proud of it, not only because it turned out so well, but because it was fun! Which is what projects like this should be — fun!” said Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee in a press release.
