Lion King Remake Has Been Cast

By

Just when you thought that your childhood was over, Disney’s The Lion King is coming back. It is set to come out in 2019, with a star-studded cast. The news broke yesterday but the world is already eager to see what this is going to be like. Some of the biggest names in the music industry and Hollywood will hopefully make a the perfect recipe for perfection. Here is the cast set to be released in 2019.

Mufasa: James Earl Jones

Jame Earl Jones also played Mufasa in the original version of the Lion King. Since then he has been in various other films, including Rogue One. He is what you can call a voice-over legend. Welcome back to the return of the Lion King.

Scar: Chiwetel Ejiofor

Chiwetel Ejiofor is probably another familiar face. He has been cast in Salt, 2012, and most famously 12 Years a Slave. Now he can add The Lion King, not a bad gig.

ZAZU: John Oliver
John Oliver is actually more of a writer, but boy is he funny. Although his face may not look familiar, you may know his work from The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. With all due respect, he also kind of looks like Zazu. Guess we’ll have to wait until 2019 to see what type of job he’ll do.

Rafiki: John Kani
This is fitting, because John Kani is a South African actor. Since the Lion King is set in Africa, I’m sure he’ll have some positive insight to add to the making of the film and character work. He’s most famously known for Captain America: Civil War.

Timon: Billy Eichner

You may have seen his face in a couple different areas. Billy has been in American Horror Story, Parks and Rec, and the Netflix original Friends From College. He was slo in the hit Hairspray Live. This is a big move in his career but hakuna matata, Billy. You’ll do fine.

Pumba: Seth Rogen
What don’t we know this guys from? Seth Rogan has been in comdey movies for the past 17 years. From The 40-Year Old Virgin to Pineapple Express to Neighbors to The Interview and so much more! He has experience in voiceover work as well, most notably in the Kung fu Panda movies. The Lion King work won’t be so new to him.

Simba: Donald Glover
Ladies and gentleman, Grammy nominated and Emmy winning actor and singer, Donald Glover will be joining the cast. Although announce back in February, it’s good to remember that he helped complete this cast, by tackling the role of Simba. Most known for his music and his roles in Martian and the hit tv-show Atlanta. Disney was quick to add him to the cast.

Nala: Beyoncé
Yes. You read this correctly. Beyoncé is taking on the role of Nala. She completed the cast just a day ago and the internet is going crazy. If you want to know what all the buzz was about, she’s the reason. Her fan base, the beehive, has gone crazy for the news and so has the rest of the entertainment industry. Beyonce and Disney both went to social media to announce the completed cast.
