Iggy Azalea lost 15 pounds with a combination of a twerking workout and a diet plan, all for her music video for “Mo Bounce.”
Although Iggy herself doesn’t twerk until over a minute into the video, the whole song is filled with booty-shaking backup dancers who drop low to the lyrics of “Mo bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce; Bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce; Bounce in the motherfuckin’ house; Mo bounce in the motherfuckin’ house” (quite unoriginal, if you ask me).
Iggy and her backup dancers bring the heat throughout the video, which required her to adjust her diet and workout.
“I went on a meal plan before the video because I knew I would have to be dancing fairly skimpily dressed,” Iggy said in an interview with Australia’s Nova 9.69 radio station. “I did a lot of rehearsals actually, and man, I lost 15 pounds in a week dancing to that song!”
Although she was already an expert at twerking before filming, Iggy wanted to go the extra mile, so she hired a twerking teacher to fully prepare her for the video. She also went to yoga classes in the weeks prior to making the video in order to increase her mobility.
Iggy has posted several behind-the-scenes videos on her Instagram page, and fans are loving it.
