Sunday night, the country was rocked with the breaking news about a shooting in Las Vegas that left 59 dead and over 500 injured. The horrific attack took place during a country concert near the Mandalay Bay Hotel, where the suspected gunman, Stephen Paddock, fired his weapon. While everyone in America is collectively grieving over the tragedy, performers and concert goers are deeply distraught over the rising trend of threats and violence during concerts. After the Manchester Arena bombing during the Ariana concert in May, and now the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, it’s safe to say that musicians and music lovers of all kinds are shaken to their core with fear over terrorist attacks at show venues. Some of hip hop’s biggest names have taken to their social media accounts to send out heartfelt prayers for the victims and their family members.
Saying a prayer for all the victims & their loved ones, also for the residents & visitors of Las Vegas! This was a horrific act of terror!!

Some artists have even used their platforms to call out politicians over the need for stricter gun laws:
I will also do everything in my power to get Congress to pass comprehensive gun reform so these types of tragedies don't happen anymore.
