Baseball Postseason Catch-up

By

This week has been intense for baseball postseason as it gets closer to the World Series. The Boston Red Sox took on the Houston Astros and lost their third game in Game 4, allowing the Astros to continue on in the playoffs. The New York Yankees played the Cleveland Indians, with the Yankees beating the Indians in Game 5 for their third win. The L.A. Dodgers were up against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Dodgers won the first three games letting them move on to the next round of playoffs. Last night the Washington Nationals played the Chicago Cubs in Game 5, with the Nationals ultimately losing in the NL series for the fourth year in a row.

On Oct. 14, the Dodgers will play the Cubs in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series. The winner of this series will move on to play the ALCS champions in the World Series.

If the Chicago Cubs win, this will be their second World Series win in two years. Last year was the Cubs first time in the World Series since they played the Detroit Tigers back in 1908. The Series in 1908 was their first time winning back-to-back years. This year they have the potential to be back-to-back champions again.

As of right now, the Astros are favored to win the ALCS and the Dodgers are favored to win the NLCS. This would be the Astros first World Series since 2005 and the Dodgers first since 1988.

The Yankee’s Instagram is showing they are ready for tonight for their game starting at 8:08.
